Berokh fled her native Iran for Mars at a young age, fearing for her life: as both an elf and a technomancer, she faced a life of persecution in the rural region where she was born. She appears to be in her late teens. She frequently runs with Marlowe’s crew, The Blank Verses, along with her partner/bodyguard Astrid.
